Job Summary
As a Social Services Director, you will oversee the daily operations of the Social Services Department at our long-term care (LTC) facility. You will work closely with residents, their families, and staff to ensure that residents' needs are met, rights are respected, and their quality of life is enhanced. This role requires excellent organizational, communication, and leadership skills to support residents and the facility effectively.
Job Requirements
  • Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in social work;
    OR
  • Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in a human-services related major, including sociology, gerontology, psychology, rehabilitation counseling or special education;
    AND
    One year in a healthcare setting where the individual is working as a supervised social worker who works directly with individuals

Pay Rate
Pay Rate: $49,500-$66,500 annually

Duties and Responsibilities
As a Social Services Director, your responsibilities include:
  • Coordinating admissions for new and returning residents.
  • Conducting small group and individual tours of the facility and providing information to prospective residents and families.
  • Managing moves within the facility to meet resident needs.
  • Conducting and supervising bi-annual employee in-service programs on resident rights and responsibilities.
  • Managing the Social Services Department's annual budget.
  • Establishing rapport with residents and their families and providing counseling as needed.
  • Serving on quality improvement committees and contributing to process enhancements.
  • Collaborating with coworkers, supervisors, and staff from all departments to solve problems and improve services.
  • Adjusting priorities and schedules to meet resident and facility needs.
  • Reporting and assisting in resolving issues related to the safety, cleanliness, and comfort of residents and work areas.
  • Ensuring compliance with universal precautions and infection control techniques.
  • Working to improve job skills, knowledge, and performance through ongoing education.
  • Following established personnel, department, and facility policies and procedures.
  • Attending mandatory educational programs and training sessions.
  • Accepting changes in work schedules and assignments to meet the needs of the residents.
  • Performing other related duties as assigned.
