Founded in 2016, Boca Recovery Center is a nationally recognized addiction treatment provider specializing in substance use disorders and co-occurring mental health conditions. With locations in Florida, New Jersey, Indiana, and, Massachusetts; we deliver evidence-based clinical care in a supportive, structured environment. Our team is committed to providing trauma-informed, client-centered services that promote lasting recovery.

Position Summary

As the Director of Human Resources, you will lead and oversee HR operations, ensuring compliance with all local, state, and federal employment regulations. You will act as a strategic partner to leadership, fostering a positive and productive work environment while maintaining sound HR practices across the organization.

This is a hands-on leadership role that will directly influence recruitment, onboarding/offboarding, payroll, compliance, employee relations, and organizational culture.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and manage onboarding and offboarding processes
  • Handle recruitment: offer letters, pre-employment screening, reference checks
  • Oversee HRIS and benefit platforms (Paychex, Paycom, Employee Navigator, etc.)
  • Administer payroll for W-2 and contract staff
  • Ensure multi-state compliance with employment laws and regulatory bodies (DCF, DOH, TJC, DMHA)
  • Manage employee relations, investigations, grievances, and disciplinary actions
  • Maintain and audit personnel files, training logs, evaluations, and health records
  • Conduct exit interviews and provide feedback to leadership
  • Coordinate staff performance evaluations and ongoing training initiatives
  • Support the organization in promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion in the workplace
  • Uphold confidentiality and adherence to HIPAA and PHI access standards
  • Collaborate with executive leadership to improve workflow and HR strategy
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

Required:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • HR experience in a healthcare or substance abuse treatment setting
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Knowledge of employment laws, Joint Commission Standards, and confidentiality statutes

Preferred:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field
  • SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP Certification
  • Familiarity with HR compliance audits and employee file management systems
