Job Summary

As Manager, HR Consulting at Justworks, you will lead a team of Senior HR Consultants, act as a strategic thought partner, and operate as an HR subject matter expert across the organization to inform product and largeโ€‘scale initiatives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead a team of Senior HR Consultants, providing coaching, constructive feedback, and regular 1:1s and team meetings.
  • Prioritize quality assurance in customer interactions and conduct annual performance reviews.
  • Expand the HR Consulting function by hiring, onboarding, and engaging top talent.
  • Drive and shape service excellence standards for the Dedicated HR Consulting program.
  • Communicate directly with customers in escalated cases or situations requiring a senior perspective.
  • Oversee team projects, including customer compliance newsletters, learning opportunities (webinars), and HRโ€‘related content, tools, and experiences.
  • Partner with Legal, Product, and Revenue teams on upcoming employment legislation and HR trends, assessing impact on Justworks customers.
  • Support and guide the teamโ€™s work on optimizing efficiencies across the function, including AI tool integration.
  • Display a high level of professionalism, compassion, and ownership when working with the team and with customers.
  • Work with internal teams to improve processes with a focus on enhancing the customer experience.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications
  • Minimum 8 years of experience as an HR Generalist, HR Business Partner, HR Manager, or Employee Relations Manager.
  • Experience handling compliance across multiple U.S. states.
  • At least one HR certification (PHR, SPHR, SHRMโ€‘CP, or SHRMโ€‘SCP); if not certified, must obtain certification within the first six months of employment (financial support provided).
  • Previous peopleโ€‘management experience preferred.
  • Experience in tech, consulting, SaaS, and/or PEO environments a plus.
  • Global HR experience a plus.
Compensation

Base wage range for the New York City office: $155,500.00 โ€“ $171,050.00 per year. Actual compensation is based on multiple factors unique to each candidate, including skill set, level of relevant experience, and specific work location. Salary ranges for positions based in other locations may differ based on cost of labor in that location.
