Position Overview

The Recruiter & HR Assistant is primarily responsible for full-cycle recruiting across Green Top Farms, with a focus on culinary, operations, and front-of-house roles. In addition to the core recruiting mandate, this role provides administrative and coordination support to the broader People function and serves as interim coverage for administrative HR tasks when the HR Generalist is out of office or unavailable.

The majority of the role (approximately 65-70%) is dedicated to recruitment. The remainder (approximately 30-35%) supports administrative HR responsibilities including onboarding, HRIS data entry, payroll support, employee file maintenance, and compliance coordination.

We are looking for a candidate who is:

  • Organized, process-driven, and detail-oriented with a strong sense of follow-through
  • Trusted with sensitive information and able to maintain strict confidentiality
  • A supportive team player who is comfortable assisting across multiple HR workflows

The ideal candidate brings 2-3 years of recruiting experience in a high-volume environment and some exposure to HR administrative functions such as onboarding, HRIS data entry, and payroll support. Prior experience in food service, hospitality, or another multi-site environment is strongly preferred.

  • Manage end-to-end recruiting for open positions across culinary, operations, FOH, and corporate teams
  • Source candidates through job boards, social media, referrals, community partnerships, and direct outreach
  • Screen, interview, and assess candidates for role fit and cultural alignment
  • Coordinate interview scheduling, candidate communication, and hiring team logistics
  • Partner with hiring managers to define job requirements, ideal candidate profiles, and sourcing strategies
  • Own time-to-fill, source effectiveness, and offer acceptance metrics
  • Support reduction of vacancy rate and surge labor reliance through proactive pipeline development
Onboarding and Offboarding Coordination (15%)
  • Lead new hire onboarding logistics, including paperwork collection, I-9 completion, and welcome communications
  • Coordinate orientation scheduling and ensure consistent day-one experience across roles and sites
  • Support offboarding administrative tasks including exit paperwork, final pay coordination, and HRIS updates
  • Maintain accurate employee files and records in Paycom and other HR systems
Payroll and HRIS Support (10%)
  • Provide administrative payroll support including timecard review, PTO entry, and data entry into Paycom
  • Support the HR Generalist with routine payroll tasks.
  • Update employee records in the HRIS for address changes, role changes, promotions, and terminations
  • Respond to routine employee inquiries on pay stubs, PTO balances, and HR system access
HR Administrative Support (10%)
  • Support the HR Generalist with administrative aspects of employee relations matters, such as note-taking, documentation, and file organization
  • Assist with leave of absence paperwork intake and tracking, under the direction of the HR Generalist
  • Support benefits open enrollment logistics and employee-facing communications
  • Coordinate required compliance training and postings
  • Maintain confidentiality across all sensitive HR information at all times
Candidate and Employee Experience, Reporting (10%)
  • Ensure a positive, professional candidate experience throughout the hiring process
  • Represent Green Top Farms at job fairs, community events, and networking opportunities
  • Support engagement activities, recognition programs, and culture-building initiatives
  • Maintain accurate records in the applicant tracking system (ATS) and generate recruiting reports
  • Track and report on key metrics including vacancy rate, time-to-fill, source effectiveness, employee retention, turnover and offer acceptance rates
  • Take on additional responsibilities as needed to support hiring goals and team objectives
Required Qualifications
  • 2-3 years of recruiting experience, preferably in food service, hospitality, or another high-volume multi-site environment
  • Some exposure to HR administrative functions such as onboarding, HRIS data entry, or payroll support
  • Experience with applicant tracking systems and sourcing tools
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Proven ability to maintain confidentiality with sensitive employee information
  • Ability to manage multiple open requisitions and administrative priorities in parallel
  • A commitment to personal accountability and continuous learning
  • Proficiency with Google Workspace or Microsoft Office Suite
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience recruiting for culinary, operations, or hourly roles
  • Experience with Paycom or a comparable payroll/HRIS platform
  • Familiarity with sourcing platforms (Indeed, LinkedIn Recruiter, Culinary Agents, etc.)
  • Experience with project management software (Asana preferred)
  • Coursework or certification progress toward PHR, SHRM-CP, or comparable HR credential
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) a strongly preferred
