Job description

SUMMARY:
This position is located on-site at our corporate office in Warwick, RI.
The Human Resource Generalist will provide support to the daily functions of the Human Resource (HR) department including benefits and leave, employee relations, enforcing company policies and practices, and hiring and interviewing staff.
PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Required to administer and execute human resource programs, including, but not limited to leave, performance and talent management, occupational health and safety; and training and development.
  • Review, track, and document compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory training, continuing education, and work assessments. This may include safety training, anti-harassment training, professional licensure, and aptitude exams and certifications.
  • Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations and recommended best practices; review policies and practices to maintain compliance.
  • Provide employee relation support for the organization.
  • Support departmental recruitment efforts, including recruiting, interviewing, and facilitating the hiring of qualified candidates for open positions.
  • Assist with the new hire process as a backup to the HR Coordinator when needed; manage background checks, assign and track required compliance training, conduct new hire orientation, and process employee badges and orientation materials.
  • Manage employee recognition programs and the required design, coordination, execution, and ongoing administration.
  • Oversee the management of the FMLA and leave process, worker's compensation, and accommodation process.
  • Serve as the primary coordinator for annual employee engagement events.
  • Under direction of the Director(s), perform regular maintenance, tests updates, and ongoing data quality checks within the HRIS platform. Assist in the preparation of HR reports such as attendance, new hire, turnover, state and federal reporting, etc.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

BASIC KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS:

  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the organization's HRIS and talent management systems.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
  • Bachelor's degree in human resources, business administration, or related field required.
  • SHRM-CP or PHR required.
  • At least 3-5 years of Human Resources experience preferred.
