Human Resources Coordinator

Sterling Group is a family-owned vertically integrated real estate investment services firm started in 1976. Our organization includes development, construction, property management and investment management with a specialty in multifamily housing and self-storage facilities. Our executives are involved daily and work closely with over 375 colleagues in multiple states throughout the Midwest and Southeast. We are looking for self-driven professionals with high accountability and integrity.

Are you highly organized, detail-oriented, and passionate about creating an exceptional employee experience? We're looking for a Human Resource Coordinator to support recruiting, onboarding, and HR operations while ensuring a smooth and compliant hiring process from candidate selection through a colleague's first year of employment. As Human Resource Coordinator you will:

  • Coordinate recruiting activities, candidate communications, and offer letters.
  • Manage pre-employment screenings, background checks, and hiring documentation.
  • Coordinate onboarding, orientation, and new hire communications.
  • Monitor HR processes, deadlines, and compliance with company policies.
  • Support first-year colleague engagement and feedback programs.
  • Maintain accurate HR records and reports while identifying opportunities to improve HR processes.
  • Provide outstanding customer service to candidates, leaders, and colleagues.

Reports to: Talent Acquisition Manager

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED required; Associate's degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field preferred.
  • 1–3 years of HR, recruiting, onboarding, or administrative experience.
  • Experience working with HRIS and Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS).
  • Strong organizational, communication, and time management skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with SmartSheets, Scribe, Copilot, and Claude is a plus.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining confidentiality and attention to detail.
