The Commercial HRBP team is hiring a Principal Associate to support key HR priorities within Capital Markets. The Principal associate plays a critical role in identifying and executing on process improvement areas across the broader Commercial Human Resource Business Partner teams along with planning, monitoring and coordinating logistics for a number of processes, such as talent management and performance management activities.
Roles and Responsibilities
  • Partner with clients to build effective relationships, manage stakeholders, and understand business imperatives to execute on HR solutions that are aligned to the business needs
  • Proactively explore, pilot, and integrate emerging technologies, including AI and machine learning tools to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of core HR processes and talent strategies
  • Support the planning and delivery of core HR processes ranging from performance & talent management, leadership development, change management, and organizational design
  • Develop walk-around decks, communications, data analysis, and training materials to be used in preparing managers and associates; may include facilitator or "train the trainer" sessions
  • Leverage data-driven insights to problem-solve and consult on strategic initiatives across the broader Capital Markets organization
  • Explore Capital Markets industry trends and share best practices to continuously improve offerings
  • May require occasional travel

Basic Qualifications
  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent certification
  • At least 2 years of client facing experience OR at least 2 years of consulting experience OR a combination
  • At least 2 years of experience in Human Resources
  • At least 2 years of experience in Google Suite products

Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree or military experience
  • Professional Human Resources Certification or Project Management Professional Certification or combination
  • 3+ years of client facing experience or 3+ years of consulting experience or a combination
  • 3+ years of experience in in Human Resources or Human Capital Consulting
  • 1+ year of experience in Project or Process Management

The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.
McLean, VA: $120,800 - $137,900 for Pr. Associate, HR Business Partner
Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate's offer letter.
This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI). Incentives could be discretionary or non discretionary depending on the plan.
