What is HubSpot administration?

HubSpot administration refers to the management and configuration of the HubSpot platform within an organization. This includes setting up user permissions, customizing properties, managing integrations, maintaining data quality, and ensuring the platform is used effectively for marketing, sales, and customer service processes. HubSpot administrators also provide training and support to team members, troubleshoot issues, and help optimize workflows to align with business goals.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a HubSpot administrator, and why are they important?

To thrive as a HubSpot Administrator, you need a solid understanding of CRM management, data analytics, marketing automation, and workflow configuration, often supported by a bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or IT. Familiarity with the HubSpot platform, HubSpot certifications, and integration with related tools like Salesforce or Zapier is typically required. Excellent problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, and strong communication skills help administrators collaborate across teams and resolve user issues efficiently. These skills are crucial for maximizing the platform's capabilities, ensuring data integrity, and driving effective marketing and sales operations.

What are some common challenges faced by HubSpot administrators, and how can they be addressed?

HubSpot Administrators often encounter challenges such as managing complex workflows, ensuring data integrity across multiple teams, and keeping up with frequent platform updates. To address these, it's important to establish clear communication channels with stakeholders, regularly audit and clean data, and participate in ongoing HubSpot training. Collaborating closely with marketing, sales, and customer service teams also helps ensure that the platform is configured to support evolving business needs.

Job description

Our client is a $500M+ diversified financial services organization that's building out a national P&C operation. They're hiring an individual contributor to own their sales operations tech stack, with a direct reporting line to the President and a defined path into BizOps leadership as the role grows.

What You'll Own
  • Finish building out and administer the company's HubSpot platform end-to-end
  • Integrate HubSpot with NICE CXone to unify sales and servicing workflows
  • Serve as the go-to owner for both systems post-launch — reporting, workflows, troubleshooting, optimization
  • Partner directly with the President on sales ops strategy and process improvement
Must-haves
  • Hands-on HubSpot administration experience (not just user-level — actual build/config/admin)
  • P&C insurance industry experience
  • NICE CXone experience, ideally including a CRM/telephony integration
Why This Role

This starts as a builder role, but it's designed to grow. Once the systems foundation is in place, there's a clear path into broader BizOps leadership — process ownership, cross-functional scope, and a seat closer to strategic decisions.
