Overview
The Hub Operations Supervisor is responsible for all operational and logistical activities at the AIT Middle Mile Network HUB locations during their assigned shift. Responsibilities include establishing and following safety protocols in accordance with AIT Worldwide Logistics' and OSHA policies and procedures. Responsible for providing leadership to all members of the Hub operations team to include Hub Operations Agents, Warehouse Leads and Forklift Operators. While conducting supervisor duties, the Hub Operations Supervisor is to act the SME for all Middle Mile Network activities to include routing freight, re-routing freight to make service, to add additional lanes as necessary to ensure service of the freight. Working hand in hand with the AIT Middle Mile Network Corp team, the Hub Operations Supervisor will create a plan and coordinate the activities to execute service. The Hub Operations Supervisor acts in accordance with AIT Worldwide Logistics' Core Values, providing expertise in people management, workflow management, cost control activities and process improvement.
Responsibilities
  • Manage and provide leadership to all members of the AIT Middle Mile Network Hub operation as assigned
  • Ensures activities on dock are being executed as planned while simultaneously supporting Hub Operations Agents, Warehouse Leads and Forklift Operators with their duties. Move materials throughout the warehouse using a forklift
  • Provides input for scheduling updates regarding staffing and booking of additional linehauls to service freight
  • Assist in identifying and improving service and operations related issues in the Hub station, including on-time delivery, accurate data entry and efficient warehouse operations
  • Track shipment performance and develop strategic processes and proactively improve efficiencies and reduce dwell time in the assigned location
  • Manage all staff directly through team coaching on performance, job assignments and training
  • Manage staff scheduling to maximize productivity and minimize expenses. Ensures workforce is active and productive, making all decisions regarding overtime, reduction in hours during the assigned shift
  • Ability to understand, process and execute activities from data provided by management and other sources and provide workable actions from the processed data/information
  • Leads pre-shift meetings daily while on duty to ensure alignment
  • Collects information regarding activity prior to shift, during shift and proactively align and present the information to the Hub Manager.
  • Ensure safe working environment through consistent practice of safety programs and procedures
  • Provide full operational services when required direct to customer
  • Demonstrate leadership through work ethic and high performance
  • Arrange product pickups and deliveries with transportation companies and route drivers accordingly
  • Monitor staff overtime and schedules
  • Develop and roll out corrective action plans when targets are not met
  • Develop and execute the station's operations strategy of AIT
  • Performs other duties as assigned
