What is an HRIS assistant?

HRIS Assistants are administrative professionals who help manage and maintain Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS) within an organization. They are responsible for entering, updating, and verifying employee data, generating reports, and supporting HR staff with system-related issues. HRIS Assistants also help ensure data accuracy and compliance, assist with onboarding processes, and provide technical support for HRIS users. Their work is crucial for the smooth operation and integrity of HR data management.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as an HRIS assistant?

To thrive as an HRIS Assistant, you need a solid understanding of human resources processes, data entry, and basic HR principles, often supported by a degree in HR or a related field. Familiarity with HRIS platforms such as Workday, SAP SuccessFactors, or ADP, as well as proficiency in Microsoft Excel, is typically required. Job description

We’re seeking an entry-level temporary resource to support our UKG user experience (UI) upgrade. This role is ideal for someone detail-oriented, tech-comfortable, and collaborative. You’ll help update user guides, training materials, and perform basic system table maintenance as we transition from the current UI to the new experience.

This is a temporary role lasting 4-6 weeks.
Location:  this is a remote role.  Candidates should be located in CA, WA, NV, or AZ
Compensation:  $25-30/hr depending on experience

Key Responsibilities

  • Update and refine user guides, quick reference materials, and training documentation
  • Compare existing (old) UI workflows to the new UI to ensure accurate updates rather than net-new creation
  • Assist with UI-related content updates required for the UKG upgrade
  • Perform basic table maintenance (e.g., adding or updating dropdown list values)
  • Conduct light research, including reviewing UKG Community articles, howtos, and existing documentation
  • Collaborate closely with HR team members; contribute to a positive, flexible team environment
  • Adapt to evolving requirements and shifting priorities as the upgrade progresses
  • Maintain version control and follow established documentation processes

Qualifications

  • Comfort working with HR business systems; UKG experience helpful but not required
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow structured processes
  • Clear written communication skills
  • Ability to learn new tools quickly and perform minor research independently
  • Comfortable comparing old vs. new system workflows
  • Team-oriented mindset with the ability to stay flexible as needs change
  • Reliable, organized, and able to work independently in a remote environment

What We Offer

At HumanGood, your work makes a meaningful impact every day. As part of our Community Support Center (corporate team), you’ll collaborate across departments to support our communities and help reimagine what it means to age well. Your ideas, expertise, and impact truly matters here.

Build your future where you’re supported — you’ll have the total rewards you need to build a confident, secure life for you and your family. Count on a compensation package that maximizes your health, wealth and well-being. And adds up to 40% in value to your base compensation.

  • A supportive, collaborative team
  • Flexible remote work
  • Opportunity to gain hands-on experience with UKG and HR technology
