Job description


Position represents the Companies as part of a professional Human Resource team member. Human Resource Associate works closely with the Human Resource Manager and HR team which includes various Human Resource functions and responsibilities. These functions and responsibilities include coordination of employee weekly payroll information, processing the bi-weekly ALTEC payroll, and completion of various forms and employee updates to be processed in the payroll systems. This position requires good communication skills, professionalism, team player, background in employee labor laws, some benefit knowledge, accuracy in processing employee information, and completion of Human Resources responsibilities in a timely manner.


Responsibilities:

  • Setup and review employee documents in AOD time system, and ADP payroll system for all Indiana plants. This includes various employee changes, vacation requests, personal days, and status changes in both AOD and ADP systems.
  • Coordinate with ALTEC HR Associate the updating and maintaining of time cards and employee time card punches for the ALTEC i-weekly payroll. After finalizing, submit the ALTEC payroll to the payroll company.
  • Coordinate monthly with ALTEC new employee eligibility for benefits.

Audit ALTEC benefit invoices.

  • Maintain ALTEC employee files and assist in maintaining of Patrick Metals employee files.
  • Assist with employee HR meetings which include training meetings and yearly "Open Enrollment" information.
  • Communicate and assist employees, supervisors, and managers, with various company policies.
  • Assist in the processing of child support orders, garnishments, and employment verifications.
  • Sort and prepare weekly YDE employee payroll punches, employees data, and payroll statements for distribution to the supervisors for employees.
  • Assist in yearly setups of ACA (Affordable Care Act) reporting in the ADP payroll system.
  • Coordinate with ALTEC the tracking of ALTEC employee FMLA Leaves/medical leaves regarding their time off and cost of benefits
  • Yearly tracking employee 1-9s for updates and terms.
  • Track and review ALTEC quarterly safety and attendance bonus's.
  • Assist in maintaining the ALTEC employee violations for attendance, or policy violations.
  • Backup for ALTEC and Patrick payroll as needed.
  • As needed, mediate employee disputes and prepare complaint documents for file.
  • Assist in YDE safety training as needed.
  • Arrange with managers the scheduling of yearly hearing test, update of 1st Responders, forklift training, etc.
  • Knowledge of labor laws and regulations.
  • Whatever else may be required.


Working Environment:

  • Manufacturing office environment.
  • Normal weekday schedule, 8:00AM-5:OOPM. Some overtime may be required. Flexibility

on this schedule is possible.

  • 4-6 Years experience in basic Human Resources and payroll functions.
  • Represent themselves in professional manner.
  • Good computer skills required and knowledge in various HR software's which includes Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Good communication, interpersonal, and attention to detail skills.
  • Good problem solving skills.
  • Ability to meet deadlines.
