  • Follow instructions from the Cast House Supervisor and work collaboratively with team members to meet production goals.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, supporting housekeeping and 5S practices in the cast house and surrounding areas.
  • Adhere to all safety policies, including the proper use of personal protective equipment, and promptly report any unsafe conditions.
  • Participate in training to learn additional tasks such as crane and saw operations as skills and performance develop.
  • Support overtime and extended shifts as needed to meet production demands and 24/7 coverage goals.

Essential Skills

  • Previous experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
  • Prior laborer experience and the ability to perform heavy physical work comfortably.
  • Ability to read and use a tape measure accurately.
  • Capability to perform general labor tasks such as lifting, carrying, and standing for extended periods in a hot, noisy environment.
  • Willingness to work rotating or night shifts and frequent overtime as needed.
  • Consistent attendance and reliability, with a strong work ethic and willingness to learn.

Why Work Here?

Join a long-established, growing manufacturing organization that combines a family-like atmosphere with the resources of a larger operation. The facility is part of a company that has been in business for over 40 years and employs hundreds of people, offering stability and room to grow. The culture places a strong emphasis on safety and continuous improvement, with clear pathways to advance into higher-level operator roles as you develop your skills. Team members enjoy frequent overtime opportunities to significantly increase their earnings, along with tenure bonuses at 3, 5, and 10 years that reward long-term commitment. The company also invests in team camaraderie and recognition through quarterly barbecues and picnics, creating a sense of community and appreciation.

Work Environment

This role is based in a cast house within a busy manufacturing plant. New hires typically train on a Monday–Friday day shift from 6:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. (with occasional Saturdays during busy periods), then transition after a few weeks to a 4x4 schedule, most likely on night shift from 6:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. Overtime is frequently available, and team members can pick up additional shifts to increase their hours. Work takes place both indoors and on the plant floor in an unregulated environment with extreme temperatures and high noise levels. The cast house is very hot due to furnaces used to melt and mold metal, and temperatures in the summer can reach around 110 degrees, so comfort working in heat is essential. The environment includes typical industrial factors such as machinery noise and other uncontrollable conditions. The dress code requires steel-toe boots and long pants, and employees must wear a hard hat, safety glasses, and ear protection when in the plant.
