Electrical Top Helper / Helper

Commercial Construction

Spratlin Electric Contracting is currently seeking a motivated Electrical Helper / Top Helper to join our growing commercial construction team. Position Overview

As an Electrical Helper / Top Helper with Spratlin Electric, you will support licensed electricians and supervisors in the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems in commercial facilities. This role is ideal for individuals looking to continue developing their skills in the electrical trade while working in a team-oriented, safety-focused environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist electricians with installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems in commercial buildings
  • Pull wire, set device boxes, and assist with conduit installation and bending
  • Perform basic electrical terminations under supervision
  • Help troubleshoot electrical issues and support the implementation of safe, code-compliant solutions
  • Read and interpret basic blueprints, diagrams, and work instructions as required
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe jobsite
  • Follow all safety standards, electrical codes, and company policies
  • Work collaboratively with project managers, electricians, and other trades to support project schedules

Qualifications

  • 1–3 years of experience in commercial or industrial electrical work (Top Helper level) Entry-level helpers with relevant construction experience may also be considered
  • Basic knowledge of electrical systems, tools, and safety practices
  • Ability to pull wire, assist with conduit work, and perform electrical tasks under supervision
  • Willingness to learn and take direction from supervisors and experienced electricians
  • Ability to read basic electrical drawings and layouts
  • Strong work ethic, attention to detail, and commitment to quality workmanship
  • Ability to work as part of a team and maintain effective communication on the jobsite
  • Reliable transportation and consistent attendance
