We are a U.S.-based, well-diversified, growing precious metals producer with seven wholly-owned operations: the New Afton gold-copper mine in British Columbia, Canada, the Rainy River gold-silver mine in Ontario, Canada, the Las Chispas silver-gold mine in Sonora, Mexico, the Palmarejo gold-silver mine in Chihuahua, Mexico, the Rochester silver-gold mine in Nevada, the Kensington gold mine in Alaska and the Wharf gold mine in South Dakota. In addition, the Company wholly-owns the Silvertip polymetallic critical minerals exploration project in British Columbia, Canada.

Coeur Rochester is an open pit, heap leach silver and gold operation. The Rochester mine has the company’s distinct position as Coeur’s largest expansion investment project in its 95-year history. The expansion project initiated commercial production in Q1 2024 and is currently in ramp-up, targeting a tripling of production rates from historical. Additionally, Rochester has the largest silver reserve asset in the United States.

About the Job:

We are seeking a dedicated Mine Safety Representative to support our commitment to a safe and productive work environment. This role plays a critical part in ensuring compliance with company safety policies and MSHA regulations while promoting a strong safety culture among all employees and contractors.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct regular field safety inspections, audits, and risk assessments
  • Identify and mitigate workplace hazards, ensuring compliance with MSHA and company safety standards
  • Participate in incident investigations, root cause analyses, and corrective action development
  • Deliver safety meetings, toolbox talks, and assist with training programs
  • Monitor and enforce the proper use of PPE and safe work practices
  • Collaborate with operations, maintenance, and training teams to drive continuous improvement in safety performance
  • Assist in emergency response preparedness and drills when needed
  • Assist in maintaining accurate safety documentation and reports

Required Qualifications & Skills:

  • Prior mining or heavy industrial safety experience preferred
  • Strong knowledge of MSHA regulations and safety best practices
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Basic computer skills for documentation and reporting
  • Current MSHA certification or ability to obtain one
  • First aid/CPR certification preferred


Additional Information:

  • Hourly Rate Range: $36.50 – $44.75 (DOE)
  • Quarterly bonus up to $4,100 (up to $16,400 annually)
