Description:
The New Jersey State Library Talking Book and Braille Center provides adaptive equipment and training to New Jersey residents through an agreement with the New Jersey Commission for the Blind and Visually Impaired (CBVI). Reporting to the Program Supervisor, the Hourly Driver will carry out the following tasks:


- Deliver and retrieve Closed Circuit Television (CCTV) magnifiers weighing approximately 25 pounds and/or laptop computers to CBVI clients throughout New Jersey.

- Responsible for full CCTV equipment lifecycle, including receiving, unpackaging, inspection, preparation, and load-out in accordance with established dock protocols.

- Review loaner policy with CBVI clients upon delivery of equipment.

- Perform basic troubleshooting of technology on CCTVs and laptops.

- Log daily mileage and refuel state-owned delivery vehicle as needed.

- Clean returned equipment and maintain equipment catalog and inventory lists.

- Assist with scheduling and delivering pickups.

- Utilize Microsoft 365, including email management and calendar coordination.

- Other job-related duties as needed.


*Successful candidate will be required to complete a background screening and possess a valid driver's license and the ability to lift 50 pounds*


Work hours: Monday–Friday, between 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
