Job description

SafeWay Driving is currently seeking a part-time Operations Manager. The ideal candidate would be able to work part-time, which includes 25-30 hours per week. This candidate will also need to be on-call to handle emergency situations.

The position of Operations Manager is responsible for the performance of day-to-day operations at the SafeWay Driving business. The person in this position is responsible for ensuring the SafeWay standards are followed in every facet of the business and involved in the local community spreading awareness of SafeWay Driving.

This position requires the following areas of understanding and core competency, which are provided through extensive in-house training:

  • Knowledge of the SafeWay Driving Operating System and Brand Standards
  • Understanding of the Driver Education and Training business
  • Understanding TX Road Rules and Laws

Current computer skills and competency are a must. The Operations Manager must be able to provide leadership at their location as they will be the sole person in charge of their location. The Operations Manager must be able to provide planning/reporting on all areas of their responsibilities and have personal communication abilities as most of our clients are parents of teenagers. The candidate must be organized and able to keep track of schedules and deadlines through the online driving school management system provided by SafeWay. They must be able to identify opportunities and be an advocate in the community for SafeWay Driving. An excellent driving record is required.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following initiatives:

  • Increase individual drive site sales through targeted marketing, customer service, and maintaining efficient operations
  • Ensure quality of drive site vehicle fleet, including maintenance and washes
  • Approve and post Instructors’ schedules
  • Answer and service direct phone calls and emails to location
  • Address customer service needs by maintaining SafeWay Brand Standards and premium customer service
  • Maintain instructor licenses and ensure brand standards are being followed
  • Get involved with the local community and find ways to market the SafeWay brand

Operational Standards

  • Protect and Promote the SafeWay Driving brand
  • Ensure Driving Instructors’ certifications and licenses for your region are current
  • Motivate instructors to follow the SafeWay Way
  • Follow all standards in the SafeWay Driving Employee Manual
  • Appearance, uniforms, and brand standards to be followed
  • Complete all tasks accurately and in a timely manner
  • Make effective use of all appropriate tools/processes
  • Be the first line of communication for customers and instructors
  • Communicate clearly and in a timely manner to customers and co-workers
  • Encourage and engage in a positive team communication by focusing on tone and professionalism in the workplace both verbally and electronically
