Job description

Full time cattle ranch hand position reporting to the ranch manager about 7 miles south of Athens, TX towards Palestine, TX. Registered cattle that values quiet stressless cattle handling. No Horses or roping are used. We need someone who is very reliable, hard worker and good communicator. May require one saturday or part of a saturday per month. We are looking for organized self starter that has some experience working cattle: feeding, branding, pulling calves, tagging calves, tractor work and possibly hauling cattle. Job includes cutting and bailing hay in air conditioned tractors, yard work, fence maintenance, weed maintenance, cleaning work area and chute area, cutting firewood, road maintenance. Need to have good knowledge of english. A clean driving record is required to drive ranch vehicles. Housing is not provided but might be able to arrange short term housing. Salary will be based on experience. Reliable transportation to the ranch is required. We may be able to work with college student in local ag program depending upon course load.
