Security Manager

Job Overview

Summary of Position

The Security Manager will assist in overseeing all aspects of security operations to ensure a safe and secure environment for all guests, colleagues, and assets.

Roles and Responsibilities

Core functions of the position, but are not limited to the following;

  1. Develop and implement comprehensive security policies, procedures, and protocols.
  1. Assist the Director of Security with the day-to-day operations of the hotel's security department.
  1. Conduct regular security risk assessments and implement measures to mitigate potential threats.
  1. Liaise with other departments to ensure a cohesive and integrated approach to security within the hotel.
  1. Communicate security protocols and updates effectively to all colleagues.
  1. Collaborate with local law enforcement agencies and emergency services to ensure a swift and effective response in case of incidents.
  1. Manage and supervise security colleagues, providing training and guidance.
  1. Monitor and analyze security systems, including CCTV, access control, and alarms.
  1. Investigate security incidents, prepare detailed reports, and recommend corrective actions.
  1. Implement and manage access control measures to secure sensitive areas within the hotel.
  1. Stay informed about current security trends, technologies, and best practices in the hospitality industry.
  1. Coordinate with other departments to ensure a seamless and secure guest experience.
  1. Conduct thorough investigations into security breaches and incidents, providing detailed reports.

Qualifications

  1. Proven experience in a leadership role within security, preferably in a luxury hotel environment.
  1. In-depth knowledge of security best practices, emergency response procedures, and risk management.
  1. Strong leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to build and lead a high-performing team.
  1. Familiarity with relevant laws and regulations related to hotel security.
  1. Excellent communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with guests, colleagues, and external partners.
  1. Relevant security certifications (CPP, PSP, etc.) preferred.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand, walk, and move about the hotel for extended periods.
  • Physical stamina to respond quickly and effectively in emergency situations.
  • Capability to lift, carry, and move security equipment as needed.
  • Visual and auditory acuity to monitor and assess security situations.
  • Ability to perform duties in various weather conditions.
