Job description


Hospitality Spotlight is looking for a Hotel Engineering Director for a luxury hotel in California.
The Work:
  • Leads by example in all areas of property operations and maintenance.
  • Oversees all engineering functions, including mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, elevators, and pool systems.
  • Manages preventive maintenance programs and capital improvement projects.
  • Partners with ownership and leadership to maintain property standards and guest satisfaction.
  • Ensures compliance with all safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.
  • Manages and mentors the engineering and maintenance team, fostering growth and accountability.
  • Additional responsibilities are required.

What you've already done (requirements):
  • Minimum of 7+ years in engineering or facilities management within high-end/luxury hotels, resorts, or residential properties
  • Strong knowledge of building systems, life safety, and sustainability initiatives
  • Proven experience managing teams, budgets, and capital projects
  • HVAC certification required; stationary engineer license preferred
  • Exceptional leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills
  • Ability to balance strategic planning with hands-on operational oversight
  • Hospitality or engineering degree preferred
  • Strong "Can Do" attitude
  • Passion for excellence, teamwork, and maintaining a world-class environment

Compensation:
  • Yearly salary base range of of $130K - $150K
