The Hotel Engineering Supervisor oversees dailymaintenance operations, repairs, and safety systems (HVAC, plumbing,electrical) to ensure high-quality guest comfort and facility safety. Theylead the maintenance team, coordinate preventative maintenance programs, managecontractors, and often act as the lead contact for repairs.
Key Responsibilities
- Team Leadership: Supervise, train, and schedule engineering staff, ensuring compliance with brand standards.
- Maintenance Operations: Direct repairs and maintenance for guest rooms, public spaces, and back-of-house areas.
- Preventative Maintenance (PM): Implement and monitor the PM schedule for hotel equipment, including HVAC, kitchen appliances, and laundry machines.
- Safety & Compliance: Ensure compliance with fire, safety, and environmental regulations, including testing life safety systems.
- Guest Service: Respond promptly to guest and staff maintenance requests and complaints.
- Administration: Maintain maintenance logs, track work orders, manage inventory of tools/parts, and assist with budget management.
Qualifications and Skills
- Experience: Proven experience in hotel maintenance or a related facility management role, typically 2-5 years.
- Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems.
- Leadership: Strong communication, organizational, and decision-making skills.
- Technical Proficiency: Ability to use computer systems (Microsoft Office, Building Management Systems).
- Physical Ability: Ability to work in confined spaces, lift heavy equipment, and work flexible hours.
