Job description

Overview

The CATERING SALES COORDINATOR will work alongside the Catering Sales Managers, overseeing all catering event-related administrative tasks. This coordinator will serve as a liaison between clients and Momofuku restaurants, effectively supporting internal communication and coordination.ย In this position, you will get hands-on experience of our entire sales cycle both inside our restaurants and at off-site catering events. This is a great opportunity to quickly gain catering experience in a fast-paced environment. ย 


This role will support the broader catering and events functions in these ways: ย 

  • This role is the initial contact for all inquiries and is responsible for ensuring that all inbound private dining and events inquiries are responded to within 24 business hours.
  • This role will support the execution of events and catering orders in any way that is needed, including supporting events in person or behind the scenes. ย 
  • This role will also support ongoing business needs, such as Guest Relationship Management and Tracking (including building a book of known leads), supporting and ย driving events related marketing campaigns in collaboration with the marketing team, maintaining and updating technology systems, including Triple Seat, OpenTable, and Ande, among others and supporting reporting of private dining and events production, including ย pace reports and sales forecasts.ย 

Responsibilities ย 

  • Work closely with the Catering Sales Team on the coordination and execution of all in house and offsite events, as assigned.ย 
  • Manage communications relating to the logistics of events between the sales and operations teamsย 
  • Communicate effectively and genuinely with clients, team members and other departments both verbally and in writing. This includes, but not limited to, communicating and coordinating customizations and event changesย 
  • Assist in managing budgets between clients and internal operational teams
  • Assist at offsite events; helping to oversee set up, event and breakdownย 
  • Assist with site visits and walkthroughs
  • Participate in weekly event meetings with restaurantsย 
  • Work with the Catering Team on post-events feedback and creating a plan to implement changes and improvementsย 
  • Show initiative and anticipate needs in job performanceย 
  • Maintain all digital assets and sales kits to ensure accuracy of offerings, branding and imagery.ย 
  • Support photo shoot coordination, as assigned.ย 

Skills & Requirements ย 

  • 1-3 years of experience in catering and events preferred, but not requiredย 
  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in hospitality or related field and/or equivalent experience
  • Restaurant experience preferred, but not requiredย 
  • Detail-oriented with strong onsite leadership and problem-solving skills
  • Self-motivated team player who can work on their own as well as within a teamย 
  • Must be hardworking and eagerย 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skillsย 
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to multitaskย 
  • A genuine passion for working with people (and helping them)ย 
  • Knowledge of current food and beverage trendsย 
  • Familiarity with typical restaurant & hospitality software preferred: Tripleseat, ย Restaurant 365, Toast, Ande, etc.ย 
  • Proficient in Google Suite, Tripleseat, Adobe & Microsoft Office Suiteย 
  • Ability to travel, as needed, for offsite events and site visits in the New York Metropolitan area. National travel less than 10%ย 
  • Must have a flexible work schedule, often requires nights and weekends based on clientโ€™s and event needsย

  • The physical demands for this position are seeing, hearing, speaking, reaching, occasionally lifting up to 25 pounds, sitting, standing, for 10 to 12 hours, bending, and moving intermittently during working hours.
