Job Summary

Cultivate exceptional guest experiences while helping lead one of New York City's most iconic destinations. As the Assistant Director of Operations, you will partner with operational leadership to deliver outstanding hospitality, food and beverage service, and event execution throughout the New York Botanical Garden. You will oversee daily operations, support department managers, ensure operational excellence, and foster an inclusive environment that prioritizes guest satisfaction, financial stewardship, and team member development.

Qualifications

· Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.

· Three or more years of progressive hospitality, food service, or venue operations leadership experience.

· Experience managing large-scale events, premium hospitality, or cultural attractions preferred.

· Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and business reporting systems.

· Knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and regulatory compliance.

· ServSafe Manager Certification preferred or ability to obtain upon hire.

· Experience with labor scheduling, budgeting, and financial reporting.

Key Responsibilities

· Support daily food and beverage and hospitality operations across assigned departments.

· Monitor operational performance to ensure exceptional guest experiences.

· Partner with department leaders to achieve financial and operational goals.

· Maintain compliance with food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety standards.

· Coach and develop frontline managers and supervisors.

· Analyze operational reports and implement process improvements.

· Assist with planning and executing special events, seasonal programming, and private functions.

· Collaborate with culinary, concessions, retail, catering, and guest experience teams.

· Support inventory control, labor management, and cost containment initiatives.

· Uphold Levy's hospitality standards and organizational values.
