Trainee - Medical Oncology & Radiation Oncology

Orange Health Service

This position offers 12 months unaccredited experience in Medical Oncology and Radiation Oncology.ย ย 

The main role is to provide clinical care to medical oncology and radiation oncology inpatients and outpatients under the supervision of Staff Specialists. The Advanced Trainee will work as part of a multidisciplinary team and supervise junior medical officers (JMOs) and medical students. It is also expected that the Advanced Trainee participates in the clinical meetings and teaching and be subject to training and performance reviews.

Focusing on innovative models of care, Orange Health Service is the largest rural hospital in NSW and the regional teaching, referral and trauma centre for the Central West. The 520 bed campus has a 270 bed general hospital, with five operating suites and 60 specialised treatment areas.

Essential Requirements:

  4. Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team including leadership and direction to ensure appropriate management of patients.

  5. Demonstrated ability to work independently within a supervised complex clinical environment utilising excellent clinical skills, judgement and expertise, with demonstrated commitment to quality improvement, patient safety and risk management.

  6. Demonstrated excellent communication skills (verbal and written), time management, problem solving and computer skills.

  7. Evidence of continuing professional development and commitment to self-education.
