Position Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Risk Management & Compliance Officer to lead our organizationโ€™s efforts in promoting patient safety, regulatory compliance, and organizational integrity. The successful candidate will oversee our Risk Management and Compliance Program, working cross-functionally with clinical and administrative teams to evaluate, reduce, and prevent risk and exposure to liability.


Qualifications
  • Bachelorโ€™s Degree in Public Health, Healthcare Administration, or a related field

  • Active RN License (Arizona or compact state)

  • BLS Certification

  • Minimum of 5 years of clinical practice experience

  • At least 3 years of progressive performance improvement or quality management experience

  • Certified Professional in Healthcare Risk Management (CPHRM) or Certified in Healthcare Compliance (CHC) preferred

    • Must obtain certification within one (1) year of hire if not already held


Key Responsibilities
  1. Lead the development and implementation of the Risk Management and Compliance Program to reduce liability, improve safety, and promote ethical conduct.

  2. Monitor and evaluate compliance and risk issues, conduct thorough investigations, and collaborate with departments to develop corrective and preventive actions.

  3. Maintain a current and effective written Compliance Plan, including annual evaluations and documentation of outcomes.

  4. Facilitate hospital-wide coordination to identify and mitigate risk exposure related to patient care, workforce safety, and organizational liability.

  5. Develop and apply risk management standards to assess organizational performance and patient safety initiatives.

  6. Conduct root cause analyses (RCA), failure mode and effect analyses (FMEA), and other investigative methods for incident response and quality improvement.

  7. Deliver ongoing staff training and education related to compliance and risk management principles.

  8. Utilize clinical and operational data to design evidence-based patient safety interventions and performance improvement strategies.

  9. Ensure all investigations and reports are conducted with the highest degree of confidentiality and professionalism.

  10. Draft and implement risk-focused policies and procedures aligned with state and federal regulations.

  11. Promote a just culture through nonpunitive error reporting and staff engagement in quality initiatives.

  12. Actively participate in and/or lead performance improvement teams across the organization.
