Job description

BASIC FUNCTION: The basic function of the Pharmacy/Inventory Coordinator is to provide the necessary planning, organization and operational workflow of the hospital pharmacy department. Duties will be completed in such a way so that the business may service their clients/patients under the optimum conditions of productivity, efficiency, cost effectiveness, safety and quality. This includes the active participation and direction over: Inventory Purchasing, Receiving, Reporting, and Control.

 REQUIREMENTS FOR POSITION:

         Education: High School Diploma

         Computer: Microsoft Excel proficiency and above average computer skills

         Preferred: Medical training or background, college degree, or a licensed veterinary technician certification or human health care equivalent. Horse background or experiences are also valuable for this position. Basic accounting for Inventory Management desirable.

         Skills: Familiarity of veterinary medical terminology and pharmaceutical intended uses. Experience utilizing software to analyze, manage and maintain inventory counts. Effectively assist doctors, technicians, management, employees and industry vendors. Ability to function in a busy veterinary practice environment and to handle a variety of tasks & jobs in an efficient manner. Must have strong people skills and have the willingness to monitor & control the activities assigned. The position requires both written & oral communication skills and the understanding & knowledge of how to deal with people with varied backgrounds. In addition this person must be able to analyze problems and translate them into achievable, actionable goals. A positive attitude and a team player.
