Position Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented pharmacist with sterile certification in Texas to support pharmacy operations at a community pharmacy in Pflugerville, TX. The pharmacist will be responsible for dispensing medications, reviewing physician prescriptions, communicating with healthcare providers, and counseling patients regarding medication use. This role also involves maintaining pharmaceutical inventory, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, and supporting safe medication preparation and distribution.

Key Responsibilities

• Receive, review, and accurately fill prescriptions in compliance with physician orders and pharmacy regulations • Communicate with physicians and healthcare providers regarding patient medications and dosage instructions • Counsel patients on medication usage, side effects, and over-the-counter treatment options • Accurately prepare, measure, and distribute medications to patients • Maintain and monitor pharmaceutical inventory levels and reorder medications as needed • Organize and manage pharmacy inventory to ensure efficient product identification and workflow • Ensure proper labeling, storage, and handling of medications to prevent expiration or deterioration • Maintain detailed patient medication histories and review Prescription Monitoring Program (PMP) records for controlled substances • Prepare medications using correct dosages and sterile techniques when required • Maintain compliance with all applicable pharmacy laws, regulations, and professional standards • Stay updated on advancements in pharmacy practice and medication therapy • Perform additional duties as assigned by pharmacy management

Required Qualifications

• Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree from an accredited pharmacy program • Active, unrestricted pharmacist license issued by the Texas State Board of Pharmacy • Sterile Certification in Texas (Required) • Strong knowledge of medication dispensing, pharmacy operations, and pharmaceutical inventory management • Excellent attention to detail and patient safety practices • Strong communication and patient counseling skills • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced community pharmacy environment
