A Hospice New Grad RN needs a solid nursing education, active RN licensure, and foundational knowledge of end-of-life care practices. Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems, pain management protocols, and hospice-specific documentation is crucial. Unlike acute care settings, hospice RNs often work independently and need to make critical decisions while supporting patients through end-of-life care. However, most hospice organizations offer structured orientation programs, mentorship, and ongoing training to help new graduates transition smoothly and build confidence in their role.
