Horizontal Machining Center Operator - BWX Technologies, Inc.  -  Barberton, Ohio

Purpose


Operates a horizontal boring mill, with and without continuous path control, performing contouring, boring, facing, turning, counter boring, grooving, undercutting, reaming, milling, drilling and tapping operations to produce quality product in accordance with established quality and procedural guidelines. Makes in-process changes to programs and edits/writes programs, as necessary, under the supervision of a programmer and/or immediate supervisor.


Minimum Requirements

  • A high school diploma or GED equivalency is required. Formal technical education is preferred, but not required. A minimum of three (3) years' technical experience in a similar role is desired.
  • Must demonstrate ability to maintain detailed records, complete process documentation and other production records.
  • Must be able to demonstrate proper use of instruments such as: dial indicators, verier calipers, precision instruments, micrometers, calipers, jacks, clamps, bolts, shim, jigs, fixtures, and angle plates.
  • Must be able to recognize problems as programs are running and demonstrate ability to write/edit programs using both G and M coded controls (experience with Siemens and Fanuc controls preferred).
  • Must be able to work with tolerances of .000" and to a microfinish 16 when necessary.
  • U.S. citizenship is required.
  • Must be open and available to working all shifts.

The noise level in the work environment ranges from normal noise levels to loud.

The starting rate for this position in Ohio (US-OH) is $40.90 per hour. The total compensation package for this position may also include a full range of medical, retirement and/or other benefits.
