This is a unique and exciting opportunity to join the team as a Night Bellman and Valet at the #1 Hotel in Los Angeles, as voted by Travel and Leisure: Oceana in Santa Monica, CA. This oceanfront, all-suite hotel reopened in July 2019 after undergoing a $35 million transformation, and we are now seeking motivated, enthusiastic professionals to become integral members of our team. 

As the Night Bellman and Valet for the Hotel Oceana Santa Monica, you assist guests with the required tasks, primarily parking and retrieving their vehicles and assisting with luggage and transportation overnight. The How…Your focus is on ensuring our guests feel welcome, acknowledging each of them when they arrive or depart, helping with luggage and moving luggage about the hotel, placing it in their room and preparing the room for immediate occupancy by turning on lights, opening drapes and discussing room features and hotel safety information with the guest, including explaining internet access and room service policies.As a responsible and careful driver, you offer professional valet services, park guests’ vehicles in the hotel’s predetermined parking facilities, obey all traffic laws, and focus on operating these vehicles responsibly. At times, you may also direct hotel traffic and assist guests with entering and leaving the parking facility.Your tremendous patience when assisting guests and desire to accommodate their every need with enthusiasm and poise is perfect when engaging with guests while working around the property. You can answer guests’ questions and direct them about the hotel as needed, including assisting them with calling taxis, holding pet leashes, or even storing luggage for checking in early or checking out late.While prior experience as a bellman is helpful for your success, it’s not necessary. We will show you how to maintain the hotel’s high service standards.The Details…

You will work a full-time overnight hospitality schedule defined by operational needs, including weekends and holidays.

Willing to conform to hotel dress and grooming standards, which include wearing the hotel-issued uniform, no visible tattoos while wearing a uniform, no unnatural hair colors, no piercings other than one pair of earrings, and neatly groomed facial hair. 

We offer many benefits to meet your needs, including medical, dental, vision, and basic life insurance options. The company provides auto-enrollment in its 401(k) plan after 60 days of employment. New employees accrue 40 hours of vacation in the first year and earn 80 hours of paid sick leave per year. Eligible employees also receive holiday pay (if working) or paid holidays (if scheduled off) for six yearly holidays*.

Education and Experience

  • Experience driving vehicles with both manual and automatic transmission
Physical Requirements
  • Expected work hours: Full-time hospitality overnight schedule defined by operational needs, including weekends and holidays

  • Work environment and physical demands:
    • Able to frequently lift or move items weighing up to 20 pounds; occasionally needs to lift or move items weighing up to 50 pounds
    • Able to use hands to use and manipulate tools and objects or control equipment; adequate vision to do the same safely
    • Able to move about the property to perform assigned tasks and responsibilities, including standing for extended periods, walking, climbing stairs, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling to perform functions
