Job description

The Bilingual Pharmacy Technician Floater will assist Pharmacists with preparing and dispensing prescribed medications. The Pharmacy Technician will also help Pharmacists provide patient care and education.

This is a full-time position that is based in one of our pharmacies in the Orange County and San Gabriel Valley area but will cover multiple locations including Brea, Mission Viejo and the San Gabriel Valley (West Covina, Pomona, Covina) and the work schedule can vary between Mon. through Fri. 8:00a. to 6:00pm.

  • No late evenings or weekends!
  • Build diverse experience by collaborating with different pharmacy teams!

About the Role:

  • Remove drug(s) from stock; count, pour, or mix pharmaceuticalsย 
  • Place the product into a containerย 
  • Affix the label or labels to the containerย 
  • Package/repackage as neededย 
  • Type prescription label(s) or enter prescription information into a computer record systemย 
  • Verify/re-verify insurance benefitsย 
  • Interact courteously with patients and team members to develop and maintain positive, professional relationships
  • Answer incoming and make outbound calls to patients, case managers, providers, insurance companies, etc.ย 
  • Clearly write routine reports and correspondence
  • Handle payment transactions at Point of Service (POS) and reconcile beginning and end-of-day transactions
  • Coordinate prescription deliveriesย 
  • Proactively identify and analyze problems and provide effective solutionsย 
  • Embrace and perform in the spirit of the companyโ€™s core values and goalsย 
  • Cover as needed to multiple pharmacies within the Orange County and San Gabriel Valley area
  • Work schedule will vary depending on pharmacy location: 8am-6:00pm

About You:

  • High school diploma or GED; Associate's degree or higher preferred, especially in a related healthcare field
  • Must have an active and good standing Pharmacy Technician License in the State of CA
  • One or more years of related pharmacy experience
  • National Pharmacy Technician certification (PTCB or NHA) preferred
  • Proficient in English with strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Bilingual in Spanish required
  • Strong MS Office computer skillsย 
  • Strong typing and data entry skills
  • Experience with pharmacy software such as PioneerRx, QSI, etc. preferred
  • Demonstrated commitment to exceptional customer service and excellent phone etiquette
  • Must have a reliable mode of transportation to get to and from the pharmacy (pharmacies)
  • Open availability to support pharmacies as neededย 
  • Willing and able to fill-in at several other/nearby Avita locations in the OC and San Gabriel Valley area required
  • Must have a positive attitude, be energetic and flexible, have excellent phone etiquette, and provide exceptional customer service

Pay range: $20- $26 per hour, based on credentials and geographic location.
