Position
AP U.S. History Teacher

Responsibilities
  • Teach AP U.S. History classes and help students develop a strong understanding of major events, historical trends, and key themes in American history
  • Guide students in mastering AP exam requirements, including historical analysis, argumentation, and academic writing
  • Develop lesson plans tailored to students academic levels and learning goals
  • Assign and review homework, essays, and practice work, and provide timely feedback to students and parents when needed
  • Support students in improving critical thinking, source analysis, and exam-taking strategies
  • Contribute to curriculum planning and instructional improvement when necessary
Qualifications
  • Strong academic background in U.S. history, history, or a related humanities field
  • Familiarity with the AP U.S. History curriculum and exam format
  • Previous teaching or tutoring experience preferred, especially in AP-level courses
  • Strong English reading, writing, and communication skills
  • Responsible, patient, and detail-oriented, with the ability to explain complex historical concepts clearly
  • Passion for education and the ability to engage and motivate students
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience preparing students for the AP U.S. History exam
  • Familiarity with DBQ, LEQ, and SAQ instruction
  • Background in history, education, political science, or a related field
  • Overseas academic experience is a plus
