Job description

Summary
Conducts synchronous online classes using Schoology and Zoom to facilitate learning in a virtual setting that combines direct teacher instruction and computer-based lessons and activities; maintains office hours to support students each day; utilizes best practices in teaching to achieve curriculum goals; follows pre-designed lessons, activities, and maintains appropriate pacing; administers in-person midterm and final exams and proctors SOL test as appropriate; maintains accurate and complete records as required by law, regulation, and policy. Participation in teacher training is mandatory and will be provided prior to and during the program.
Qualifications
Must hold a license issued by the Virginia Department of Education and an endorsement in History and Social Science, with experience in teaching both Virginia and United States History curriculum. Online teaching experience or completion of the FCPS Academy ?Online Teaching? course, preferred. Knowledge of the instructional practices, techniques, and materials pertaining to the assigned teaching specialty; proficiency in technology; strong communication and interpersonal skills; ability to engage and motivate students of diverse backgrounds and varied skill levels in a collaborative learning environment.
