Job description

Overview
Responsible for the daily operations of Health Information Management department's chart completion functions. Supervises documentation analysts, specialists, and physician workroom to team include staffing, training, quality control and management oversight for assigned functions and HIM workflow. Directly responsible for managing documentation follow-up and missing report queues to ensure chart documentation is accurate and completed within regulatory requirements. Responsible for compliant oversight of amendment request, corrections, and/or edits to electronic/EMR documentation by clinical staff including EMR paper-based documents. Responsible for oversight of the birth registration process, ensuring accurate and timely completion in compliance with regulatory requirements.
Responsibilities

Qualifications
  • Graduation from an accredited university with a BS degree in Health Information Management or a related field. Associate's degree in HIM also considered if directly related supervisory or management experience.
  • RHIA, RHIT or other AHIMA credentials/eligibility required. Preference to RHIAs.

Two (2) years management experience to include at least one year of acute care HIM experience. New graduates with a Bachelor's degree or higher in HIM or directly related field, will be considered dependent upon directly related clinical, internship, or other related healthcare experience
