Job Title:Cultivation Team Member

About This Role

Every position at High Life Farms from seed to sale, is contributing to our mission to serve our fellow citizens of Michigan with the highest quality, safest cannabis product through our highly individualized and education-oriented provisioning centers. The Cultivation Citizens are a part of the Production Team from plant creation to harvest, and some post-harvest activity. Cultivation Citizens rely on each other for support and are accountable to each other.

Essential Job Responsibilities.

Assist our growing team in effectively and efficiently cultivating the finest medicinal and recreational cannabis

Plant/Transplant according to established schedule

Feed, Water, and treat each plant as required to maintain acceptable standards for growth and production

Trim/Prune plants as needed according to cultivation schedule

Always follow Standard Work procedures for all cultivation activities, to ensure consistent quality cannabis products

Using state track and trace software to track all activities and work performed in the cultivation team: including plant tagging and tracking, waste tracking, nutrient and crop inputs, harvest entry, and harvest batch tracking

Responsible for sanitation of equipment and production areas, preparation and maintenance of nutrient reservoirs and irrigation system

Assure all cannabis products are free from contamination risk at all stages; from propagation to harvest

Monitor plants on an ongoing basis and perform quality control checks to ensure process and product quality in line with company standards

Maintain a clean and tidy workspace; show a high standard of cleanliness and organization

Collaborate with other Cultivation technicians in daily cultivation tasks, training, and review of process with a continuous improvement mentality

Employ professional and clear communication practices to maintain a positive and progressive team atmosphere

Identify a wide variety of conditions such as plant diseases, existence of insects, nutrient deficiencies, etc

Handle all company products and tools with proper care

Understand Cleanliness and Contamination Requirements and Protocols

Flexing into other departments when needed (i.e., Harvest, Cultivation, Production, Packaging, etc.)

Must be available to work weekends and paid holidays as required

Weekend shifts last for 8 weeks in a row and the rotation happens twice a year after a 2-4 month introductory training period.
Greenhouse team weekend shift is Friday - Tuesday
Indoor team weekend shift is Thursday - Monday.

Able to stand on ladders for extended periods of time

Reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear

Grow environments can range from 60-90 degrees Fahrenheit with relative humidity between 40-90% under intense grow lights or sunlight
