This position is for you if:

- You are bilingual in English and Spanish (this is required).

- You have a passion for agriculture and you want to learn about all aspects of a thriving manufacturing business.

- You have at least 3 years experience with plumbing, carpentry, mechanics and basic electrical repair.

- You are forklift certified or willing to obtain one.

As the Maintenance Technician, you will support nursery operations by performing preventive and routine maintenance on equipment and facilities. This role involves troubleshooting issues, repairing equipment failures, and ensuring optimal performance and reliability — all while adhering to established safety protocols and guidelines.

The job details

  • Diagnostic test and repair of electrical, plumbing, carpentry and light mechanical problems at the nursery
  • Responsible for preventive maintenance
  • Troubleshoot and repair faulty circuits and equipment
  • Complete requisition for materials and obtain quotes from vendors to procure supplies and/or contractors needed to complete upkeep and projects within the established budget.
  • Trace and analyze causes of plumbing, irrigation, and water well problems and make repairs as needed
  • Able to set up and operate welders, drill press, grinder, hand tools and other metal working equipment
  • Install and repair pipe, fittings, and fixtures; operate and maintain pumps and water treatment systems, water wells, and irrigation fixtures; maintain and repair water sprinklers, irrigation systems, test completed work and make necessary adjustments
  • Perform skilled carpentry work in the maintenance and repair of buildings, greenhouses and other structures for the nursery
  • Maintain a professional courteous manner with all vendors, contractors and fellow employees
