A Maintenance Technician will usually be required to perform a wide range of repair tasks around both Ann Arbor facilities. Some other tasks a Maintenance Technician may be called upon to do include installing, repairing, and maintaining commercial or industrial machinery in buildings and in manufacturing settings. Technicians will need to be able to respond to operators' needs with equipment issues to ensure equipment operates daily, perform routine and scheduled preventive maintenance on equipment, work with CGMP departments to update and maintain preventive maintenance on equipment and facilities and assist with fabrication projects as needed. This job description summary outlines core aspects of this position, but additional duties may be required on a routine basis. This job description does not constitute the complete responsibilities for this position.  Responsibilities: Install, repair, and maintain machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance. Locate sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation. Dismantle machinery and remove/replace defective parts. Determine changes in requirements of parts by inspecting and measuring various instruments. Maintain inventories of equipment parts and supplies by checking stock and placing orders. Train production workers on routine preventive maintenance. Provide mechanical maintenance information by answering questions and requests. Prepare maintenance reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends. Maintain a safe and clean work environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations. Execute needed maintenance for CGMP certification and compliance. Assist with janitorial and facility maintenance.
Job Requirement: Perform routine inspections of equipment and systems to ensure optimal functioning and safety. Respond promptly to maintenance requests and work orders to minimize downtime. Collaborate with the production team to troubleshoot and resolve equipment issues. Perform minor electrical, plumbing, and HVAC repairs as needed. Assist with the installation and setup of new machinery and equipment. Document all maintenance activities, including repairs, inspections, and preventive maintenance tasks. Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance facility efficiency and safety. Support emergency maintenance tasks as required during off-hours or weekends. Ensure compliance with all safety and environmental regulations. Assist with janitorial tasks as needed to maintain facility cleanliness and orderliness.
