Salary range (but not limited to):

69,200 - 84,600

Annual bonus target, based on the base salary, with a potential payout of up to double the target (subject to personal and company performance):

Salary for the candidate will be determined taking into consideration a number of factors including: experience, skills, qualifications, anticipated contribution to role, internal equity, etc. The salary range presented above is based on a 35-hour workweek and would represent a majority of different candidate profiles. However, we encourage candidates who may fall outside of this range to apply as well.


About the role

We have an exciting new opportunity in Claims for a Level I or II Accident Benefits Adjuster in one of the following offices:

  • Edmonton, AB

  • Calgary, AB

  • Vancouver, BC

  • Victoria, BC

What you'll do here:

  • Analyze and interpret insurance policy wording to determine coverage and evaluate entitlements that are fair and equitable.

  • Communicate in a timely and respectful manner with customers, claimants, lawyers and insurers to settle claims and report findings and settlements.

  • Conduct investigations and identify additional information such as medical examinations, customer medical or employment history as required to clarify and/or justify a claim.

  • Ensure all cases are clearly documented and meet our legislative requirements.

  • Identify process improvement needs and recommend changes to policies or procedures to improve quality service and competitiveness.


What you bring to the table:

  • Post-Secondary Education in a health-related field or have worked in a medical setting and are proficient in understanding medical terminology.

  • Previous claims adjusting experience is required.

  • Accident Benefits claims handling is an asset.

  • Working toward the Chartered Insurance Professional (CIP) designation is an asset.

  • Alignment with IFC company organizational values.

  • Have a strong ability to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced environment.

  • Approach each claim with a collaborative mindset which focuses on the needs of the customer and respects the parameters of the policy wording.

  • A skilled communicator, in both verbal and written, allowing you to foster favourable business relationships.

  • Compassionately listen to customers while guiding the conversation to gather, document, and confirm all required information, enabling you to assess each situation and make timely, thoughtful decisions.

  • Passion for investigation and getting to the root cause of the customer's concerns allowing you to identify red flags and/or find solutions to support while adhering to the parameters of the policy wording.

  • A desire to go above and beyond for our customers and your colleagues because you truly want to make a difference.

  • Strong desk management and organizational skills.

  • Strong desire for personal growth and continuous learning.

  • No Canadian work experience required however must be eligible to work in Canada.
