Senior Product Manager, In-Store Enterprise Payments

HEB

San Antonio, TX

$114K - $150K/yr

Full-time

Job description

Responsibilities

Role Summary

As a Senior Technical Product Manager, Enterprise Payments, you will lead the strategy, design, and delivery of HEB’s core, enterprisefacing payments systems that power both instore and eCommerce experiences at scale. This role owns the foundational platforms and integrations behind the scenes: processors and acquirers, gateway architecture and failover, tokenization and data security, authorization performance, and longterm payments strategy that enable HEB to reliably accept, optimize, and scale payments across channels.

While this role supports both online and instore payments, extensive inperson POS and terminal experience is critical. Success depends on understanding how enterprise payments infrastructure decisions manifest across the firm—across terminals, lanes, store operations, reliability, and incident response—while balancing cost, resilience, and flexibility.

What You’ll Do

  • Own HEB’s core payments platform strategy, including processors, acquirers, gateway design, redundancy, and tokenization
  • Define and evolve longterm payments architecture to improve resilience, scalability, and flexibility while reducing singlevendor risk
  • Deliver enterprisefacing payments capabilities across authorization, clearing, settlement, reconciliation, and reporting
  • Partner closely with engineering to translate network, processor, and security requirements into scalable platform capabilities
  • Optimize payment performance and economics, including approval rates, latency, routing strategies, and costtoaccept
  • Act as the connective tissue across Payments Engineering, POS, Digital Product, Store Ops, Accounting, Security, and external vendors
  • Be able and willing to get into the weeds: writing requirements, prioritizing work, and unblocking complex crossfunctional initiatives

What You’ll Bring

  • Preferred 7+ years of product management experience, ideally within payments, fintech, acquirers or have done payments at largescale retailers
  • Deep inperson POS experience; familiarity with cardpresent flows, EMV, etc.
  • Strong understanding of merchant acquiring, processors, gateways, and endtoend card payment flows.
  • Comfort operating within agile product practices adapted for enterprise platform work.
  • Proven ability to execute and influence within large, matrixed organizations.
  • Clear communicator who can translate technical tradeoffs into businesslevel decisions.
