Job description

About Us

The human brain is the most complex object in the universe, yet society has accepted one-size-fits all approaches to cognition. The "solutions" (think coffee, energy drinks, and even a friend's rx) were mediocre at best and frankly, made no sense to us. So, we created Thesis, the world's first customized nootropics company. If you've never heard that word before, it's just a fancy way of saying brain supplements. In five years, most will be taking nootropics on the daily and chances are, they'll be ours.

With an exceptional efficacy rate, the world has taken notice - we've raised over $13M in venture capital, garnered interest from leading neuroscientists and athletes, and established ourselves as the industry's leading brand. Now, we're looking for incredible people to help us share the gift of enhanced cognitive function with the world. If you're looking to be a part of a movement - one that involves both immense self-growth and an ambitious mission to pioneer an industry - we'd love to have you on the team.

About The Role

We're hiring a Product Development Manager to lead end-to-end product development across new formulations, line extensions, and category expansions. This role will build structured development processes and bring new products from concept to launch. You'll own the operational engine that turns insights into market-ready products.

How You'll Make an Impact:

  • Own End-to-End Product Development: Lead formulation, testing, and launch execution for new products across Thesis and Stasis.
  • Build Scalable Development Processes: Design and implement stage-gate frameworks that accelerate innovation and improve development efficiency.
  • Execute the Innovation Roadmap: Translate prioritized opportunities into actionable development plans with clear milestones and ownership.
  • Manage External Partners: Collaborate with manufacturers, labs, and R&D partners to deliver high-quality formulations.
  • Drive Product Launch Excellence: Oversee testing, compliance, packaging, and production scale-up for successful launches.
  • Improve Development Velocity: Identify operational improvements to reduce cycle time and increase throughput.
  • Work cross-functionally with Marketing, Research, and Operations teams to ensure deliverables are met.
  • Act as a resource within the PD community for innovation and development.
  • Keep abreast of competitive product launches and new technologies.
  • Help source and identify new concepts, ingredients, and product forms. Obtain research for new product ideas (visual and literal).
  • Attend Industry Forums when available to learn more about research and development in supplements/health & wellness segments and other relevant topics.
We're Excited About Your
  • 5+ years of experience in Product Development, Innovation, or R&D in CPG companies; ideally health & wellness VMS, Food & Beverage, or beauty
  • Experience managing products from concept through launch
  • Strong project management and execution skills; be adept in time management, execution, follow-up, and attention to detail
  • Experience working with manufacturers or formulation partners
  • Familiarity with structured product development processes (stage-gate, agile, etc.)
  • Ability to manage multiple complex initiatives simultaneously
  • Detail-oriented with strong operational rigor
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced startup environment
  • Must have a strong team and interpersonal, creative, communication (verbal, written), and analytical skills
  • Highly organized and focused while able to multi-task and adapt to changing priority levels for multiple ongoing projects
  • Ability to work collaboratively across functions, to work independently, and to take initiative when appropriate
  • Be open to constructive feedback and revisions on work
  • Flexible on work responsibilities and priorities
  • Goal oriented with a positive "can do" attitude
  • Proficient with AI research tools
  • Proficient in obtaining data through Mintel, NPD, etc.
  • Minimum of 4 days in office per week.

Pay Transparency:

We can't quantify everything we think you'll love about working at Thesis, from the exciting projects you'll work on, to the smart and humble team you'll get to work with, and our supportive and inclusive culture. That said, our salary ranges are based on paying competitively for our size and industry, and are one part of our total rewards package, which also includes comprehensive benefits and equity. The base salary hiring range for this position is $100,000-150,000.

A Few of Our Perks and Benefits:

  • Competitive compensation with an exceptionally generous equity package

  • HSA, FSA and pre-tax commuter benefits for parking and transit
  • Ancillary benefits through Talkspace, One Medical, Kindbody, Teladoc, Classpass and more!
  • 401k to help you plan for the future

  • A strong emphasis on promoting from within and personal development
  • A dog-friendly office located in the heart of Flatiron steps from Union Square and Madison Square Park
  • Hybrid work model

Our Values:

We believe in open and honest feedback to help us continually learn and improve. In return, we are committed to providing the resources, support, and guidance for our team to achieve their ambitions and meet their potential.
  • Own Outcomes: We are driven by achieving meaningful results, both for our customers and our business. We're proactive, conscientious, and take responsibility equally in times of triumph and challenge. We also operate with a sense of urgency because we want to seize the opportunity to create a new category and bring nootropics to everyone who needs them.
  • Lead with Science and Data: We are obsessed with data to understand our impact, and always seek the truth through objective metrics that help us make informed decisions. Science and evidence underpin everything we do, from product formulation to marketing claims. We're committed to making the highest quality nootropics on the market and measuring our efficacy.
  • Create Exceptional Experiences: We are committed to creating a work environment that fosters a unique culture and deep sense of belonging. We create exceptional experiences by showing up for each other, giving each other the benefit of the doubt, and building an inclusive and warm environment-in and outside of the office. We're equally committed to showing up for our customers by delivering a thoughtful and impactful experience for anyone who tries one of our products.
