Job description

Position Summary
As a Healthcare Designer at STERIS, you will review, prepare and process architectural and equipment location drawings and other documents related to project design and planning with guidance from Healthcare Design Specialist and/or Design Group Leader using programs such as AutoCAD and Revit. You will be responsible for accuracy, appearance and quality work. Under stated guidance, you will coordinate project design activities within The Healthcare Design Group and/or other departments (Field Based Sales & Project Teams).
What You'll do as a Healthcare Designer
  • Develop conceptual designs into detailed drawings, and other required documents (dimensioned equipment location, electrical, and mechanical drawings identifying equipment position, clearances, and services) depicting STERIS's planning recommendations, using AutoDesk AutoCad and Revit software.
  • Prepare dimensioned equipment location drawings and advanced details identifying equipment position, clearances, and services using AutoDesk AutoCad and Revit Software.
  • Responsible for thoroughly checking completed project material, recognize discrepancies within assignments and alert Healthcare Design Specialist and/or Design Group Leader.
  • Communicates all relative project design information to field sales and project teams as required using email, phone calls, conference calls, and virtual meetings.
  • Work with Healthcare Design Specialist and/or Design Group Leader to resolve any conflicts arising during review, preparation, processing, or revision of drawings and documents, and identify / develop optional solutions.
  • All work must be completed to the satisfaction of the Design Group Leader and Project Design Manager regarding completeness, accuracy, appearance, and conformance to Company and department standards within stated time limits.
  • Performs needed tasks to achieve defined objectives which meet and align with organizational and group needs.

The Experience, Abilities and Skills Needed
  • Bachelor's degree and 1-4 years of experience OR an Associate degree and 5 years of experience
  • Certification in Autodesk, AutoCAD, and Revit or equivalent experience
  • 2+ years of architectural space planning experience and/or equipment location design
  • Capability to read construction drawings - floor plans, elevations, sections, and details.
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving abilities both independently and in group assignments.
  • Strong oral and written communicative abilities using Microsoft Office applications.
  • Self-starter, adaptive learner.
  • Effectively collaborates with others.

Pay range for this opportunity is $58,000 - $75,000. This position is eligible for bonus participation.
Minimum pay rates offered will comply with county/city minimums, if higher than range listed. Pay rates are based on a number of factors, including but not limited to local labor market costs, years of relevant experience, education, professional certifications, foreign language fluency, etc.
