Job description

Senior Healthcare Designer

Full-Time | Design Team | Goodmans

Design spaces that truly impact lives.

At Goodmans, design isn’t just about aesthetics—it’s about improving how people heal, work, and connect. We’re looking for a Senior Healthcare Designer who’s ready to lead meaningful projects, mentor others, and shape environments that reduce human struggle and elevate care experiences.

If you’re passionate about healthcare design and want your work to make a real difference, this is your opportunity.

What You’ll Do

You’ll take ownership of the full design journey—from early concepts to final execution—while collaborating with a talented, mission-driven team.

  • Lead healthcare design projects including programming, space planning, and specifications
  • Partner with clients to understand needs and deliver thoughtful, impactful solutions
  • Create conceptual designs, block plans, and detailed drawings (AutoCAD)
  • Conduct product research and ensure design accuracy and compliance
  • Present ideas in client meetings, RFPs, and project interviews
  • Collaborate across teams to elevate healthcare expertise and outcomes
  • Mentor and support the growth of other designers
  • Help drive innovation, efficiency, and continuous improvement in workflows

Why This Role Matters

Your work will directly influence healthcare environments—making them safer, more efficient, and more human-centered. You’ll help reduce waste, improve workflows, and create spaces that support both caregivers and patients.

What You Bring
  • 10+ years of design experience, including 5+ years in healthcare design
  • Bachelor’s degree in design or a related field
  • Strong knowledge of contract furniture and healthcare environments
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and space planning
  • Confidence leading meetings, presentations, and client conversations
  • A problem-solving mindset with a focus on continuous improvement
  • A collaborative spirit and passion for mentoring others

What You’ll Grow

At Goodmans, growth is intentional. You’ll continuously develop your expertise in:

  • Healthcare design trends and applications
  • Product knowledge and value engineering
  • Communication and leadership skills
  • Code compliance and workplace safety
  • Emerging technologies and design tools

Our Culture

We believe great work starts with great people. At Goodmans, you’ll find a culture that is:

  • People-first – We prioritize the well-being and growth of our team
  • Collaborative – We believe excellence happens together
  • Purpose-driven – We design to improve lives and communities
  • Forward-thinking – We never stop learning or innovating
  • Authentic – We value transparency, honesty, and real connections

We celebrate wins, learn from mistakes, and invest in each other every day.

Why Goodmans?
  • Family-owned company with 70+ years of success
  • Recognized as a great place to work
  • Competitive compensation and generous benefits
  • A supportive, engaging, and genuinely fun work environment
  • Opportunities to make a real impact in healthcare design

Ready to Make a Difference?

If you’re excited about shaping the future of healthcare environments and growing your career with a team that values your contributions—we’d love to hear from you.

Apply today and let’s build something meaningful together.

Goodmans is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
