About the Role
We're looking for a dedicated Health Insurance Navigator to join our team and help us continue delivering the level of care our patients and families deserve. In this role, you'll be a vital part of our administrative team, ensuring excellent service, collaboration, and patient outcomes in a fast-paced healthcare environment. As the Health Insurance Navigator, the IPA/Navigators will be responsible for becoming certified as IPA/Navigators and will be expected to assist individuals, families, employees and small businesses with applying for health insurance's that are offered through the NYStateofhealth Marketplace.
What You'll Do
  • Provide in person health insurance enrollment to potential enrollees. It is expected that each navigator will enroll a minimum of 30 clients a month with a goal of 40 applications.
  • Educate potential enrollees about the NYStateofhealth and the types of health insurance programs offered thought the Marketplace.
  • Provide education to and facilitated enrollment into, Qualified Health Plans (QHP's) supplementary plans available through the Marketplace (if offered) and /or into Insurance Affordability Programs (IAP's).
  • Provide enrollment assistance to potential enrollees with renewal of health plans.
  • Assist potential enrollees with grievances, complaints or questions regarding their health coverage or a determination related to their coverage.
  • Provide information in a fair and impartial manner which is culturally and linguistically appropriate and disability accessible for the populations being served under the Marketplace, including individuals with limited English proficiency.
  • Refer client to other services. Many clients would benefit from services such as WIC, food stamps, housing assistance, Head Start, Literacy Volunteers, Saratoga Hospital Financial Assistance Program. Work toward every client having a medical and dental home.
  • Participate in marketing activities that will educate the community on the availability of the Health Insurance Navigation Program.
  • Deliver compassionate, patient-centered care in alignment with Saratoga Hospital values
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to support health, healing, and service excellence
  • Perform administrative responsibilities with a focus on safety, quality, and efficiency
  • Use hospital systems and tools to document care and support operations
  • Continuously seek opportunities to improve processes and support patient and staff satisfaction
  • Serve as a positive, professional representative of our hospital and community

What You Bring
  • Minimum of High School diploma, Associates degree preferred. Fluency in Spanish or a second language a plus
  • Navigator certification required within 30 days of employment
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
