Job description

Tabs is the leading AI-native revenue platform for modern finance and accounting teams. Tabs agents automate the entire contract-to-cash lifecycle, including billing, collections, revenue recognition, and reporting, to help teams eliminate manual work and accelerate cash flow.

High-growth companies like Cursor and Statsig rely on Tabs to generate invoices directly from contracts, reconcile payments in real time, and automate ASC 606 compliance.

Founded in 2023, Tabs has raised over $91 million from Lightspeed Venture Partners, General Catalyst, and Primary. The team is headquartered in New York and brings deep expertise in finance and AI.

About the Role

Tabs is hiring its first Head of PeopleOps! We are looking for a hands-on, foundational leader who will build and scale the People function as the company grows from ~130 to 200 employees and beyond.

This role owns all aspects of People Operations, Employee Experience, Compliance, and Development, creating the systems, processes, and culture that support Tabs’ next stage of growth. You’ll balance strategic leadership with tactical execution; from onboarding and managing benefits to coaching managers and building scalable programs. The team size is expected to remain at one through this round of funding.

You’ll report to the Head of Operations and Finance and partner closely with the VP of Talent and executive team to ensure People strategy drives company performance.

This is an ideal role for a strategic builder who thrives in fast-paced environments and wants to shape the employee experience from the ground up.

What You’ll Do
  • Build and scale People systems and processes (especially Rippling).

  • Manage payroll, benefits, onboarding/offboarding, and compliance.

  • Develop policies, documentation, and programs that reduce risk and drive clarity.

  • Lead employee engagement, recognition, and culture initiatives.

  • Serve as a trusted advisor to managers on performance, feedback, and employee relations.

  • Create frameworks for reviews, promotions, and compensation adjustments.

  • Design and deliver learning programs and career frameworks.

  • Support annual compensation reviews, headcount planning, and people analytics.

  • Ensure clear internal communication and alignment across teams.

Who You Are

You are a hands-on builder and strategic operator who thrives at the intersection of people, culture, and business. You balance empathy with operational rigor and enjoy creating structure in fast-moving environments.

Experience
  • 6–12+ years in People Operations, ideally across multiple scaling stages (50–250 employees).

  • Prior experience as a Head of, Director, or Senior Manager, or VP of People in a high-growth SaaS or startup.

  • Proven success managing an HRIS (preferably Rippling).

  • Strong understanding of employment law, compliance, and people analytics.
Experience designing L&D or manager enablement programs from scratch.

  • Track record of partnering with executives to align people and business strategy.

  • Based in New York City and available to work in-office five days per week.

Perks and Benefits (Full-time Employees)
  • Competitive compensation and equity

  • Unlimited PTO

  • Up to 100% employer covered monthly healthcare premium (medical, dental, vision)

  • Lunch provided via Sharebite, plus dinner for any later in office days.

  • Parental leave up to 12 weeks

  • Tax free commuter and parking benefits

  • Voluntary insurances (Life, Hospital, Critical Illness, Accident)

  • Employee Assistance Program (Rightway)

  • Free One Medical Membership

  • 401k
