Salary Range: $145K - $155K/Yr + Bonus Opportunity
Position: Full Time - In Office
Location: Orem, Utah

This role will lead and support the product management team, improve the stage gate process, strengthen cross-functional communication, and help bring high-quality, market-competitive products to customers. The Director of Product Development will partner closely with senior leadership and teams across engineering, design, marketing, supply chain, sales, and operations to align product initiatives with customer needs, company strategy, profitability goals, and speed-to-market priorities. This is a full-time, in-office position based at MITY's headquarters in Orem, Utah.
What You'll Lead and Influence
  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of product managers by providing direction, mentorship, accountability, and support.
  • Own and improve the product development stage gate process, with an emphasis on speed to market, clear communication, and cross-functional alignment.
  • Develop and execute a product roadmap aligned with company strategy, customer needs, market insights, revenue growth opportunities, and operational capabilities.
  • Manage the full product lifecycle from ideation through launch, ensuring projects are completed within scope, timeline, and budget expectations.
  • Partner with engineering, design, marketing, supply chain, sales, operations, and senior leadership to define product requirements, prioritize features, and support successful product launches.
  • Drive product profitability, market competitiveness, and revenue growth by evaluating product opportunities, customer feedback, product data, market research, and industry trends.
  • Manage legal, compliance, regulatory, and sustainability initiatives related to new products.
  • Prepare and present product updates, project progress, roadmap priorities, and product training information to senior leaders and larger groups.
  • Conduct market and product research, including travel to trade shows, customer visits, suppliers, and other relevant industry events.
  • Stay current on industry trends, emerging technologies, and competitive products that may impact MITY's product strategy.

What Will Help You Succeed
The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of experience in product management, product development, or a related role, preferably with experience leading a team or managing product strategy at a senior level. A bachelor's degree in business, product management, marketing, engineering, or a related field is preferred, though equivalent experience will also be considered.
Experience leading product development processes, managing product roadmaps, improving cross-functional workflows, and bringing new products to market is strongly preferred. The right person will be strategic, organized, analytical, and collaborative, with strong project management skills and the ability to use product data, customer feedback, market research, and business metrics to make informed decisions. This person should also be a strong communicator who can create alignment, influence priorities, present effectively to senior leaders and groups, and move product initiatives forward with clarity, urgency, and accountability.
Why Join MITY
