Head of Operations & Partnerships - Medicine Donor Team

SIRUM

Job description

Head of Operations & Partnerships

Remote or Hybrid (depending on the candidate)

About SIRUM

Every year, 50 million Americans can't afford their prescriptions while ~$11B in perfectly good medicine goes to waste. SIRUM exists to close that gap. We're a nonprofit, for-impact startup founded at Stanford and backed by Y Combinator. Our platform moves ~$1M worth of medications every week from hundreds of donors across dozens of states. Featured on The TED Mainstage and selected by The Audacious Project.

The Role

SIRUM is at an inflection point. We've built a platform that works, and now we need to scale it. You'll work directly with co-founder George to lead operational strategy and drive growth for medicine donations. Much of what you'll own hasn't been built yet. You'll be designing the playbook, not just running it.

This role grows as you do. Prove out the systems, earn trust through the work, and there's room to build and lead as SIRUM scales.

What You'll Do

You'll own the operational engine for medicine donations at SIRUM, ultimately getting more medicine to more people. That means understanding the processes deeply enough to improve them, building the systems that don't exist yet, and making the ones that do work better every week. The impact here isn't abstract: every system you build moves real medicine to real people faster.

  • Own our "push down the stack" philosophy: when something breaks, you don't just fix it. You figure out why and build the playbook or automation so it doesn't happen again.
  • Assess what's working and what isn't across our operations, identify where the biggest opportunities are to grow, and prioritize where the team focuses its resources.
  • Be the face of SIRUM to our corporate partners - owning the full relationship lifecycle from strategic check-ins and contract renewals to impact reporting - and use what you learn to shape how we grow.
  • Be the escalation point when complex issues land outside standard playbooks. You'll use judgment, not just process.
  • Drive new partner acquisition - from fielding inbound interest to converting referrals to building the pipeline from scratch. You'll help design how we continue to grow.
  • Build and own AI-powered automations, dashboards, and internal tools that multiply SIRUM's impact. Whether you've built these before or you're ready to learn, this role puts you on the leading edge of how SIRUM scales.

Who You Are

  • A strategic thinker. You step back, see the system, and figure out what to change, not just fix what broke.
  • Genuinely relational. You build real trust with people (donors, partners, teammates) and connect as naturally with a frontline nurse as with a CEO.
  • AI-forward. Maybe you've already built automations. Maybe you're itching to start. Either way, you see AI as a tool to get more done, and you want to build with it.
  • High-judgment. You know when to make a call, when to loop someone in, and when to escalate.
  • A builder who adapts. You've created something from scratch and you thrive when the role evolves as fast as you do.

Experience

2-4+ years in a role that required analytical rigor, relationship management, and working in ambiguity. Common backgrounds: management consulting, strategy & ops at a tech company or startup, or chief of staff / ops lead at a small organization.

Compensation: $130-150K | Full health benefits (100% premiums covered) | 4% 401K match | ~6 weeks PTO
