Role Summary
The Managing Editor & Content Operations Lead oversees the content production engine for our client's in-house marketing organization. This leader is responsible for establishing and scaling editorial processes, governance frameworks, intake management, workflow orchestration, resource planning, and quality standards across all content outputs.
The role serves as the connective tissue between Content Strategy, Creative & Video, Digital Experience, Campaign Teams, and Marketing Operations, ensuring work moves efficiently from request intake through publication while maintaining brand consistency, editorial excellence, and SLA compliance.
This individual will lead the transformation of content operations through AI-enabled workflows, modular content systems, and data-driven performance management while supporting a global content supply chain.
Content Operations & Workflow Management
Own the end-to-end content operating model across all content production activities.
  • Design, implement, and continuously optimize intake, prioritization, workflow, and approval processes.
  • Manage production capacity planning across copywriters, writers, editors, and external resources.
  • Establish and maintain service level agreements (SLAs), turnaround expectations, and production standards.
  • Drive workload balancing and resource allocation based on business priorities and demand forecasts.
  • Develop scalable operational frameworks that support global content production.
Editorial Governance & Quality
Establish editorial guidelines, standards, and governance processes.
  • Ensure consistency of voice, tone, messaging, accessibility, and brand compliance.
  • Oversee review and approval workflows across stakeholders, legal, product, and partner organizations.
  • Implement quality assurance processes and editorial audits.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives based on content quality metrics and stakeholder feedback.
Content Supply Chain Leadership
  • Lead content production planning across campaigns, always-on programs, launches, and thought leadership initiatives.
  • Partner with Content Strategy to translate messaging frameworks into executable content plans.
  • Collaborate with Creative, Video, UX, and Digital Experience teams to ensure integrated content development.
  • Champion modular content design and content reuse strategies to improve efficiency and scalability.
  • Create operational standards that support omnichannel content delivery.
AI & Process Transformation
  • Identify opportunities to leverage AI for content creation, editing, tagging, localization, and workflow automation.
  • Establish governance and best practices for AI-assisted content development.
  • Introduce automation and process improvements that reduce manual effort and accelerate throughput.
  • Measure and report productivity gains enabled by AI and automation investments.
Leadership & Team Development
  • Lead and mentor content creators, writers, editors, and content operations specialists.
  • Establish role expectations, development plans, and editorial competencies.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, innovation, and operational excellence.
  • Support hiring, onboarding, and workforce planning activities.
Measurement & Performance Management
  • Develop dashboards and reporting frameworks for content operations performance.
  • Monitor production volume, quality, utilization, capacity, and SLA attainment.
  • Leverage insights to inform staffing plans, investment decisions, and workflow optimization.
  • Communicate performance and recommendations to executive stakeholders.
Required Qualifications
  • 12+ years of progressive leadership experience.
  • Proven success building and scaling global content operations organizations.
  • Experience leading transformational initiatives involving process redesign and organizational change.
  • Demonstrated capability influencing executive stakeholders and driving enterprise-wide adoption.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience leading in-house agency or content studio environments.
  • Knowledge of marketing technology ecosystems, DAM, CMS, AEM, workflow automation, and content platforms.
  • Experience implementing AI-enabled content production methodologies.
  • Familiarity with modular content architecture and content supply chain frameworks.
  • Global marketing experience within large enterprise environments.

Pay Details: $82.00 per hour
