Southern Tier AIDS Program, Inc. is looking for aHarm Reduction Coordinatorto join our Norwich team! This position is responsible for directing and overseeing daily operations of the Syringe Exchange site in conjunction with the Director of Programs, Harm Reduction. Supervises staff providing services to participants of the Syringe Exchange Program. Develops and presents community education about Harm Reduction services. Coordinates and executes street, community, and provider in-reach and outreach to promote programming, recruit clients, and offer harm reduction education. This position reports directly to the Director of Programs, Harm Reduction and collaborates with other STAP staff members and volunteers as appropriate, and supervises Harm Reduction staff/peers/volunteers, including, but not limited to: Harm Reduction Specialist, Prevention Care Manager, Harm Reduction Nurse, Harm Reduction Technician, SEP Peers and volunteers/interns.
Responsibilities
The primary responsibilities and duties of aHarm Reduction Coordinatorinclude but are not limited to:
- Directing and overseeing daily operations of the Syringe Exchange Program (SEP)
- Ensures staffing of the SEP during established operating hours, provides backup in order to maintain appropriate staffing levels
- Coordinates and participates in Street and Community Outreach
- Staff SEP on-call cell phones in rotation, provide back-up coverage as necessary
- Provides supervision, guidance, and support to staff members regarding crisis intervention/prevention, referrals, testing services, and general questions and procedure
