Northrop Grumman's Defense Systems sector is seeking a Engineering Program Manager 3 to run the Command Systems Hardware Design Integration Assembly & Installation organization. This position is in our Strategic Deterrent Systems Division to execute the Engineering and Manufacturing Development phase of the Sentinel Ground Based Strategic Deterrent (GBSD) program in support of the United States Air Force. This position will be located on campus in Roy, UT.
This role may offer a competitive relocation assistance package.
The qualified candidate will work within an Integrated Product Team (IPT) environment, interfacing with IPT leadership, suppliers, customers, and other technical disciplines to engineer design solutions to challenging problems through the development of Product Definition Packages (PDPs).
What You'll Get To Do:
  • Lead the Node Integration PDP activities for the Command Systems (CS) Hardware Operating Unit to drive design integration across subsystems and nodes.
  • Provide technical management of supplier Statements of Work and subcontracts.
  • Oversee product and subsystem development from initial design through production and selloff.
  • Ensure team members have the required training, tools, and access to perform design engineering responsibilities.
  • Manage workloads and assignments for the CS Hardware Design Integration Assembly & Installation Design Team.
  • Collaborate with other engineering managers to align priorities and support overall execution of program objectives.
  • Identify gaps within a design and/or requirements and provide a resolution that is cost effective, innovative, and create minimal impacts to other teams.
  • Drive on-time delivery of CS Hardware Node Integration work products to support the design timelines of the GBSD Enterprise.
  • Utilize earned value management and other financial tools to plan, execute, and report status.
  • Ensure schedules and program plans are credible, substantiated by quantitative data, and bounded by risks and opportunities.
  • Support digital transformation initiatives relating to PDP development and release.

This positions standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.
You'll Bring These Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) discipline and 8 years of related experience or Master's degree and 6 years of related experience
  • Must have an active U.S. Government DoD Secret security clearance at time of application, current and within scope, with an ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) approval within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company to meet its business need.
  • 1+ years of formal experience leading a project and/or driving performance against cost and schedule
  • 1+ years of experience with design integration and engineering drawing development
  • 3+ years of experience with CAD modeling software
  • Ability to travel 25% of the time

These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:
  • ICBM Experience
  • Experience with Siemens NX and PLM
  • Control Account Manager training and/or experience managing programs or subcontracts in an Earned Value framework
  • Familiarity with the ASME Y14.x suite of engineering drawing standards
  • Experience in creating a Product Definition Package (PDP) or PDP like products
  • Ability to work closely with multiple functional organizations (Engineering, Manufacturing, Purchasing, Field Operations, etc.)

Primary Level Salary Range: $166,700.00 - $250,100.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
