The ideal candidate brings deep mechanical engineering expertise, a track record of shipping high-volume consumer products, and the leadership ability to grow and inspire a cross-functional engineering team. You will set technical direction, drive execution across multiple concurrent programs, and serve as a key stakeholder in delivering innovative, manufacturable products from concept through production.
ROLE COMMITMENTS
  • Lead and mentor a team of mechanical engineers across design, development, and production support.
  • Own the mechanical engineering roadmap for the hardware product portfolio.
  • Drive NPI execution across multiple programs, ensuring on-time delivery and quality.

  • Partner with senior leadership and cross-functional stakeholders to align engineering priorities and communicate trade-offs.
  • Oversee design reviews, risk assessments, and product validation activities through the full NPI process into production.
  • Coordinate with internal departments including quality, procurement, and AME, and with Vietnamese contract manufacturers to bring products from concept to market.
  • Establish team goals, KPIs, and metrics to measure engineering effectiveness from design through production.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives using Six Sigma or equivalent methodologies.
  • Build and maintain relationships with Vietnam- and China-based suppliers and supply chain partners.
  • Lead mechanical design and development programs using SolidWorks, ensuring design intent is executed accurately through manufacturing.
  • Manage complex electro-mechanical product programs from design through high-volume manufacturing and production support.
  • Direct structural integrity analyses including FEA, and ensure compliance with specifications and quality standards.
  • Own product cost estimation and BOM management throughout development and into the supply chain.
  • Drive DFx (Design for Manufacturing, Assembly, and Serviceability) compliance across all programs.
  • Oversee comprehensive test plans to validate hardware performance, functionality, and durability.
  • Lead root cause analysis and troubleshooting of hardware defects; implement preventive measures to minimize future occurrences.
  • Guide teams in designing parts for plastic injection moulding, steel fabrication, machining, forging, and casting.
  • Maintain working knowledge of tolerances and clearances for bushings, bearings, and complex mechanical systems.
  • Review and approve BOMs, ECOs, engineering drawings, tolerances, and assembly instructions.

  • Communicate technical and program status effectively to team members, cross-functional partners, and senior leadership.
  • Manage multiple concurrent development programs while maintaining schedules and quality standards.
