Job description

Job Summary: 
We are looking to add a Professional Handyman to our team at Mr. Handyman Norwich, New London, and Glastonbury. We are a veteran owned and locally operated company with the backing of a national franchise. All of our service professionals are employees of Mr. Handyman, not subcontractors. We have a motivated team with great support systems from top to bottom. We hope that you can become an integral part of our growth for the years to come.

Significant past experience in home improvement or construction is a must.  We provide residential and commercial services throughout a large territory in Eastern CT.  You MUST live within the territory; you can view a coverage map at the bottom of our website landing page https://www.mrhandyman.com/norwich-newlondon-ct/

Responsibilities: 
  • Complete Maintenance & Repairs - small to large jobs for residential and commercial projects. The project length can range from 1 hour to two days or more. 
  • General Carpentry & Remodeling - interior, exterior, and residential & commercial services.  Basic handyman tasks and full scale renovations.  
  • Accurately estimate potential jobs when scheduled.  This involves sourcing materials and communicating customer wants or material needs to the office staff. 
  • Customer Engagement - you will be working in the customer's home or business.  You will be responsible for professional appearance and required to communicate proficiently.  You will handle billing with most customers using company-issued technology. 
  • Timeliness - show up on time, and complete each job in the expected time originally estimated. 
Qualifications
  • MUST live within the territory
  • MUST own your own tools
  • Ability to pass a criminal and driving record check & possess valid license
  • Minimum 8+ years' experience as a handyman / general maintenance / remodeler / carpenter / home construction
  • Knowledge of job site safety rules and regulations (OSHA)
  • Knowledge of methods, tools, and equipment used in carpentry
  • Knowledge of local building codes
  • Ability to accurately and safely use tools
  • Must be qualified to perform at heights above thirty (30) feet with the use of a ladder, lift, or bucket truck boom 
  • Ability to lift 40+ lbs on a consistent basis
