Definition: A Leader in charge of the operation with the abilities of an individual who practices a trade; skilled in a craft. Skilled in planning, making, or executing an occupation, trade or activity requiring artistic skill. To make or produce with care, skill, and ingenuity and willingness to teach, mentor, motivate or discipline others to help them grow to their potential. They can hire, train new, intermediate, and tenured employees and evaluate each person as they develop them to work as a TEAM for the betterment of the business.
Objective: To develop Field Supervisor-level people who can not only perform all types of work from small to larger projects, but can manage, hire, train and evaluate Interns, Apprentices, Handymen, Craftsmen, Lead Craftsmen and Master Craftsmen, as well as a subcontractor on a larger project. They have the ability and desire to pass on their knowledge to others. They are a mentor, teacher, motivator, coach and overseer of the development of all levels of the Career Path. One may need to hire a person at this level already. They'd still need to "click out" of the learning progression by testing and onsite proof they have the abilities at this level to become an "ACE Certified Handy" person. However, most of the time, employees will be hired and placed at the Craftsman level and then test out to move to the Lead Craftsman level and then move up to the Master Craftsman level by proving they are willing to pass on their knowledge to others progressing upward on the Career Path. They will continue being the Half- Day Champion and Full-Day Champion when in the field. They might be half time at first, and then, as the TEAM is built, become more of a supervisor. They will also help with hiring, training and evaluating of all field employees. They will oversee the development of all pieces of the Career Path and will certify the candidate has passed not only the written exams but also the onsite abilities to perform the tasks to our satisfaction. They will be the boots on the ground certifiers of the "ACE Certified Handy" for each person trying to gain that certification, therefore they will need to be certified as a certified Ace certified Handy trainer.
